A day of African songs with Drumming
“Singing can help you feel good about yourself. It is a great way to increase confidence and boost self-esteem. Singing has a wide range of health benefits and is an excellent way to encourage children and young people to make a positive contribution to their communities. It encourages us to become more confident and articulate, to have faith in our ability and to become more culturally and creatively diverse. Whatever the ability or age range, every child can sing and most have a natural enthusiasm for singing.” Department for children, schools and families

We start the day with an hour long assembly and take singing much further than is normally possible in schools. We facilitate the whole school to use their voices like an orchestra. Creating simple parts and layering them up like instruments. We continue the day with 30-40 minute sessions with class sized groups where the children create an accompaniment to the songs using drums and percussion.
