Performing Arts Students.
Elements of African Drumming in Secondary schools
We can create whole day programmes for developing rhythm work right across the performing arts spectrum.
DrumCrazy was born after John Walter had worked for 7 years as a music teacher at Estover Community College. Drumming in a group was the one thing that had universal appeal across the age ranges. Whether it was Samba, African, Junk or steel drums, the music department was drawing students in and inspiring them to take part and excel at performing music.
A DrumCrazy day with KS3 and 4 is designed to inspire composition by giving clear structures for creating and layering up rhythms in a performance.
